I have recently been trolling the Blogosphere and notice that anyone who is anyone has a BLOG. Since I am definitely anyone, I thought I would start a blog of my very own. I am also hoping that by blabbing on my blog, it will keep the ”voices” happier as they too will have an outlet. I’m not sure what direction this will take but I’m sure it will be an interesting ride. Soooo, hop on the back of Auntie’s bicycle and let’s cruise!
You may wonder where my moniker originates. Well, I am an Auntie, several times over, thanks to my prolific brothers and sisters. But the ”antiquity” process is a recent development. You may not realize it but you could be an “antiquity in progress“. It is a slow, gradual, often mind numbing process- you don’t really notice it creeping up on you. But it is a common phenomenon-happens to the best (and worst) of us. Here are some of the symptoms:
1. you have no interest in reality TV (exception: Survivor, since you have been watching for almost 10 years, and The Amazing Race);
2. you don’t have any idea who Lindsay Lohan is ( and you don’t want to know);
3. you use the phrase “back in the day“.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m as hip as the next menopausal mama. I have a tattoo, I (and Joan Jett) love rock and roll and I clean up pretty too ( if I do say so myself AND I DO!) But I am not on the “cutting edge“ of anything anymore though I have been seen running with scissors. It seems too much like work to be “in the know”; being “in the dark” is sooo much easier.
But, despite collecting dust, life in Auntie’s world can be pretty interesting. Horny Toad, my true love, definitely adds spice (and a bunch of aggravation) to life. Let me tell you a bit about HT. He is a lover of all types of music and he always has a song in his head which is wonderful except hat he only shares a small snippet of that song with the outside world over and over and over, the same small snippet and so Auntie presents a daily segment to be called
SONGS FROM THE SHOWER- Today’s song snippet is: “the lunatic is in my head” ( wash,rinse,and repeat 35 times at 5:45 a.m) Guesses, anyone?? Please be sure to check back tomorrow for the answer.
